In fact, the only time I have relied on cooked food/elixirs is for a couple of shrine quests & side quests and for the Faron Resurrection tower which was a bit high early on in the game. I almost never cook because the process is a bit too cumbersome for my liking, so i've mostly relied on raw food to get by. Do remember you will first need to complete the statue’s side quest before you can do this.Click to expand.In my case, I tend to fight a lot of Silver Lynels with crushers and Moblins with black Royal Guard Claymores in Hyrule Castle, can wipe out 30 hearts in 2-3 hits even with 4 starred Guardian Armor, so I'm totally fine with the added security of 30 hearts over more stamina, especially with Revali's Gale & Climbing Armor set which makes traversing the world even more easier and has largely eliminated any need for further stamina. Then use 100 Rupees to make the exchange. Simply interact with the Horned Statue at Hateno Village for it. In case, you did some shrines but exchanged them for Stamina Vessels then you can get them exchanged for Heart Containers. You can get this by doing any 20 Shrines you come across or of your choice. So all you need now is 5 more Hearts Containers. 4 Heart Containers you get from the 4 Divine Beasts. Exchange these 4 Orbs to get 1 Heart Container. 4 Spirit Orbs you get from the first 4 Shrines that are mandatory for getting the Runes.3 Hearts Containers you get at the start.So after completing them you should have 8 Heart Containers: Each Divine Beast gives you 1 heart container. Of course, you can always tame the Divine Beasts. You can then convert 4 of these Spirit Orbs into 1 Heart Container. So you will need to go around completing Shrines in order to get the Spirit Orbs. You need a total of 13 Hearts, that is 13 full Heart Containers in Zelda BOTW to get the Master Sword.
